Learning Experience
The Bachelor’s Plus Program Offers Students:
Quality
Our program has been around for more than 20 years, and it’s approved by the Ohio Board of Regents and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). We have the experience to make sure that our students are well prepared to be effective teachers.
Convenient Locations
For your convenience, we offer the Bachelor’s Plus program at the ASHLAND CAMPUS, as well as at regional centers located in COLUMBUS and ELYRIA. We recognize that you have many commitments; balancing classes, family and work can be challenging. Our curriculum is offered during the evening hours, throughout the summer months and in online and hybrid (combination of online and in person) to make it easier to complete the program.
We also offer value-added components like small class sizes, experienced supervisors and faculty who understand and value adult learners.
To help prepare you for your teaching career, field practicums in area schools provide experience with students and mentoring teachers. Courses are provided at the centers, online and in hybrid (a combination of face-to-face and classroom) formats.
Personalized Attention
From the initial interview through completion of the program, our Bachelor’s Plus program directors and advisors are there to help you succeed.
Housed at each of the three locations, they work individually with you to ensure that you take only the courses required for a given license.
Bachelor’s Plus Equivalents
We make every attempt to update the equivalent course numbers, but it is your responsibility to assure that any course from another university meets the Ashland course requirements. This list is not all-inclusive and is subject to change. Possible course equivalencies can be found on www.transferology.com.
Universities and colleges are not required to take transient students. Their first obligation is to their own students. Your request to take a course may be denied on the basis of enrollment or other local factors. Transient Students for Columbus State must meet CSCC's prerequisites.
When applying to Ohio State to take an undergraduate course, call Extended Education at 614-292-8860 or email odee-extendeded@osu.edu.
If you would like to take a course not listed on this equivalency sheet from another university or college, you will still need to complete a Transient Form and email it to the Office of Records and Registration (regis@tincyn.net) for approval.
Please complete a Transient Form:
You must earn at least a C grade to receive credit for any course taken; submit an official transcript to the Office of Records and Registration (regis@tincyn.net) and work with your assigned Academic Advisor to apply your transfer credit to your AU academic record.
These courses can be used towards your program once you are a registered student and will be entered in your record during your first semester. The accepted courses are evaluated based on current equivalents, course descriptions and approval by faculty.
Once you are an AU student, you have the opportunity to appeal to AU faculty members for additional coursework to be applied to your record. The decisions on appeals are final.
